Below you can find all informations about our courses 2024, including your Enrollment & Payment guide and information about On Campus housing.

Lunch will be provided for the duration of your course(s).
If you have any dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, food allergy, etc.) you can let us know via the “Dietary restriction” field on the “Enrollment Form”.

COURSE STRUCTURE

– Participants are present at the location.
– They receive assignments and feedback from the lecturer.
(with the exception of Thomas Newman’s course for PASSIVE participants)

Course schedule:
ALL COURSES start at 10am PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) with the exception of
June 14 & 15 ( Thomas Newman) when courses will be from 1pm to 6pm.

ENROLLMENT GUIDE

1. To enroll click the “Enrollment Form” button of a selected course.
( If you wish to book more than one course you can select your choices directly on the Enrollment form.)

2. Please fill out the ENROLLMENT FORM.
( The form helps us to stay in contact with you and to keep administrative track of your choices and bookings)

!! PLEASE NOTE: The enrollment includes a commitment for signature of the “Release of Liability & Agreement.”
Enrollment can be submitted/accepted only if you agree (checkbox) to sign the agreement in person when you arrive on campus
before attending the course(s) !!

3. Space is limited so your place is not guaranteed until payment is completed. The deadline for payment is May 17th . You can transfer
your course fee(s) via PayPal or electronic bank transfer ( PAYMENT GUIDE).

4. Once you have submitted your Enrollment and/ or Housing form please proceed with one of the payment-options offered in the PAYMENT GUIDE. Payment for both does not need to be at the same time, but Enrollment must be received before housing payment or at the same time as housing.

5. Once payment is made either using PayPal or by bank transfer, please fill out and submit the Payment Confirmation Form.
This will help us to match the funds received with your course and/or housing enrollment(s).

HOUSING REGISTRATION

Please visit our link “HOUSING” and fill out the housing registration if you wish to book On Campus housing.
Once you submitted the housing-registration form, you can add your housing-fee to your course-fee(s) and transfer the TOTAL AMOUNT of your bookings.

!! PLEASE NOTE !!
Housing registration must be submitted by May 17 and housing payment received by May 22 to guarantee your reservation. Accommodation requested after those dates cannot be guaranteed!

ANIMATION

One of the most daunting challenges a composer can face is writing effectively for animation. Anyone who has done it, knows that it requires the composer to possess a strong compositional technique. If you have the technique to effectively score a cartoon, chances are you will be more than equipped to score a dramatic film. The lessons you’ll have learned in this class will serve you well with whatever project you are involved in.

In her The Composers’ Conducting Immersion class Maestra AMY ANDERSSON will provide a comprehensive four day course focused on the core fundamentals of conducting. Participants will also learn the comprehensive skills needed to conduct confidently, clearly and musically in recording sessions, rehearsals and on the concert stage.

In this 2-day course AUSTIN WINTORY will provide valuable insight into his approach towards composing and SCORING FOR GAMES. Students will also receive assignments and immediate feedback.

Conrad Pope & Nan Schwartz will provide in this 4 days course a priceless insider’s look at orchestration & arranging of film music. From basic instrumentation to complete execution of a score, every step of writing professionally for an orchestra in today’s film world will be addressed.

What are the Terms and Conditions?

We ask you to observe the following terms and conditions of participation in the Hollywood Music Workshop – USA.

By enrolling in this workshop you agree to accept them as stated:

1. The organizers assume no liability for any loss, theft or damage to instruments and other valuables which are brought to the course or to any other events of the Hollywood Music Workshop – USA,

The participants are responsible for arranging adequate insurance cover for themselves.

2. Participation in the classes and recreational activities of the Hollywood Music Workshop –USA is at your own risk. The organizers shall accept no liability for any accidents or injuries involving the participants. The participants are responsible for arranging adequate insurance cover for themselves.

3. Underage participants will not be supervised. The parent or guardian is to enclose an informal declaration of consent for participation and adherence to the course terms and conditions.

4. The house rules at the course location, Pepperdine University are to be observed (no consumption of food and drink in the classrooms except bottled water).

5. We expect an appropriate attitude and behavior from our participants during the workshop. We do not tolerate the use of abusive language or any aggressive and / or intimidating behavior. We also do not allow any discriminating comments or statements of any religious, racial, gender or other backgrounds. We expect that participants demonstrate a professional attitude and show respect towards other participants, our lectures and our workshop staff. The participants need to follow the instructions of the Hollywood Music Workshop staff as along as they are related to the workshop delivery and operations. We also do not tolerate any unsolicited business activities and service offerings by participants in any of the workshop facilities. In case participants fail to comply with these rules of good conduct the Hollywood Music Workshop reserves the right to remove participants from the workshop classes and and deny further access to the current and future workshop activities and facilities.

6. Access to the workshop facilities will be granted to participants starting 30 minutes before class starts and up to 30 minutes after the class has concluded for the day. Any access to the workshop facilities beyond the aforementioned hours would be granted on good will basis by the workshop staff but cannot be expected by the participants. This is especially relevant in case participants are bringing stationary equipment to the workshop or plan to work on class assignments outside of class hours – as the workshop might not be able to grant additional access to the facilities.

In case of non-payment your place will be given to someone else. In case of no show, the deposit or full course fee will be lost and your place will be given to someone else.

7. It is in your own interest, to inform us promptly if you have to change your plans.

8. Hollywood Music Workshop does not permit any video taping or other recording of lectures during the workshop.

We do not provide housing or meals.

9. You will need to bring your own laptop including software, keyboard and headphones to the venue.

10. All the courses are taught in English.
